Finding resources for the special needs community can be a little like a treasure hunt. They exist, but it is not always obvious where to go.
When our family moved to Kennesaw in 2014, we were a little lost finding our place. Each parent we met gave us a little more information and eventually we found the programs and services our son needed. It took time though and I wished for a simple concise list to help guide us.
Now that our son is entering into the adult stage of his life we feel that lost feeling again. The more people I talk to, the more I realize how much our area needs a central place to find resources and connect with others within the community. I believe the resources, programs and connections exist, there just is not a good communication channel once a young adult leaves the school system to be able to find them.
My sincere hope is this website can provide a place where local adults and their families can connect and share. I'm starting here and we will see where it goes. Please reach out and share! I am excited about the possibilities for our community if we come together.
