Diveheart is a nonprofit tax-exempt 501C(3) volunteer driven organization who’s mission is to build confidence, independence and self esteem in children, veterans and others with disabilities using zero gravity, adaptive scuba and scuba therapy.

FOCUS offers wraparound programs of support to families of children, teens, and young adults who are medically fragile or have developmental/physical disabilities. Programs include hospital support, workshops, adapted day and overnight camps, adapted swim teams, parent share groups, family camps and activities, grants for critical medical equipment, and more. FOCUS seeks to create a community for families of children with disabilities.
Some of their camps, programs (such as Fast Fins) take place in our local area.

Application for a free lifetime pass ($10 mail process fee) to national parks available to US citizens/permanent residents who have a permanent disability that limits one or more major life activities. Will work with and transport participants in the Cobb County area. The physical location is located off Hwy 92 in Woodstock.

Special Olympics is a year round program of training and competition for children (ages 8 & up) and adults with special needs. Participants receive opportunities to increase physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and develop friendships with other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Special Olympics offers a variety of athletic opportunities including bowling, gymnastics, ice skating, basketball, alpine skiing golf and tennis to name a few. Athletes practice/train for at least 8 weeks before state level competitions.
Please note Cobb County Therapeutic Recreation handles registration for Cobb SOGA teams on the Cobb County website. Other organizations within our area may send teams to the events, but it will be handled by each individual organization.

The Next Stop creates an interactive “neighborhood” with engaging content, events, and daily activities to foster a safe online platform where adults with special needs can engage, connect and access daily activities for both learning + leisure.
